I'm ashamed to be a human, why do I feel this way?

When I look at humans, all the sweat and hair and the stench of their breath, the raspy or slimy feel of palms when I shake hands. Sometimes disgusting veins sticking out, hugs guts, shallow eyes, cracked lips. All the snot and mucus and spit we all have, filled with sticky blood, all of this covered with dirt filled pores. Humans are disgusting. Why do I feel this way? What can I do?

I'm ashamed to be a human, why do I feel this way?

I feel the same way you do, for me it's because I live more in a personal fantasy world than in the real world.

What is there to do?

Just don't focus on the negative, try looking for something positive in the person and remember them for that...

I'm sure you can find love in your heart enough for everyone on the earth... if you try... ;)

well you can always practice certain meditations and then you can astral projection, emerge from the human body and fly away to the astral dimension and find some spiritual animals to take over their bodies and you might just might get out of this world, i am sure you will good luck

maybe your not human and been sent here or it seems you just described all men and hate us

ummmm.....don't shake anyone's hand? You feel this way because you are human, too. I think you should journalize your feelings about things. You express yourself very well. Not all humans are like that. There are very good people that take good care of themselves the way I'm hoping that you are doing as well. I hope I answered this right.

You may have some kind of phobia go and see the doc.

I sometimes feel that way and I think it's a deeper problem than physical features. Generally if you find a quality you like about someone or something then you can over-look flaws that would otherwise present themselves to you with a flashing neon sign.

I generally have that ...repulsed? Feeling when I meet someone who I consider to be a complete moron,or someone who's generally a nasty piece of work.At times it makes me ashamed to call myself a human.

I think you must have had some bad experiences with people or have a problem with general human behavour to let their physical appearence bother you that much.

Learn to accept that all humans are flawed and take pride in living with your own personal standards, whatever they may be.

Part of the reason you feel this way is how human bodies are shown in the media and expected to be. Everyone looks good, but that is because there are a bunch companies out there that want you to buy their products to achieve that polish and perfection.

Human beings are biological machines (thats such a cold way to put it, but you get what I mean) we aren't always going to look like dolls.

To help you feel better- try to reduce how much you're looking at tv and magazines. By you thinking a natural body is disgusting, that is what keeps all those companies in business. They want you to think a natural body is disgusting, that is good for their bottom line. They don't care if its actually possible, or if it gives you stress, as long as you go out and buy their product. I'm not saying throw away all your personal hygiene products and go dance naked in the woods (unless you want to of course!) but avoiding advertising will certainly help

You could also look online, or pursue photography of the human body. Not models, but ordinary people through different perspectives. There is beauty in our imperfections, it makes us unique, it humbles us, it is an appreciation you have to develop.

We are pretty pathetic and revolting beings if you look at it that way.

Try looking at it from a different angle.

Try volunteering. You just might be amazed that some of the TRUE LY revolting looking people are unique individuals despite all the "warts".

You feel this way because theres something clearly wrong with you... Go see a shrink, he'll help you :) You can look at people and see how beautiful they are, how kind, go make friends?

LOL Sara, this must be some of these questions someone "has made you to ask"...

I can see how anyone can be disappointed at humans time to time. I lift my spirit up by looking at the wonderful masterpiece my Lord has Created and I lift HIs Holy name on high. I well in His Word and I am renewed.

When you look into the mirror, who do you see looking back out? Is that really you? The honest answer is 'no, not really'. It may be a reflection of your current physical form but it is by no means the whole you, the full you, the true you. You were once a small child. One day, you will be much older. Your appearance has already changed drastically and it will yet do so again. Current events are showing you something about the real nature of your identity. You now need to remember that you are much bigger than this.
