So, my hair is naturally dark brown [black to human eye] I've had it highlighted a few times.. looks brownish and has blondish/honey highlights..winter's coming up and I want to dye my hair jet black.. I'm light olive [mixed Rican%26amp;Lebanese] .. I also might end up getting contacts shade of green.. not sure about that part though.. my hairstylist said it would look right other people give me the "ehh" look.. www.myspace.com/stfu_thanky0u -- pics on there

Sounds like black hair will look fine on you. Be aware, though, that hair colors aren't ever really "true" colors. They either have a greenish/ashy cast, or violet, or golden, or reddish. For your coloring, I would look for a black with a violet cast to it for a shiny, bluish-black color.

I don't like any jet black hair. It reminds me too much of the girl off of the ring. Try something a little darker than your natural hair color.

You are best putting the darkest brown on your hair that you can, not jet black. That looks too harsh, whereas the darkest brown will look more natural. There are some very good ones that look black, once on.

The jet black will normally last at least 3 weeks on your highlights before it starts decolourising, so that's a point to consider.

Go for it! You've put a lot of thought into in; use a semi-permanent color and it will wash out in 6-8 shampoos that way if your don't like it !

I love changing hair color, I have naturally very dark brown hair, too, and just tried this Mahogany color L'oreal came out with and I gets lots of compliments; it had reddish highlights which is fun, but that is a permanent color.

Ignore what other people say, it's your hair, not theirs !
