Why does hair only grow in some places?

why have humans lost nearly all the hair on their bodies but still have denser hair on their head / underarms /pubic

Since underarm/pubic hair only kicks in at puberty, is it supposed to be attractive to the opposite sex?

Why does hair only grow in some places?

u have hair all over the body - just not that visible in some areas.

hair is dencer in the hair is to help block the suns rays, to help sweat and to keep u warm- trapping air inbetween the hairs.

Also hair is to remove water- hairs flow downwards!!!

Why does hair only grow in some places?

Remnants of our evolutionary need for warmth.

Its not meant to be attractive, (though i suppose hair on the head may be), just simply 'the left overs' after evolution has gradually reduced the amount covering our bodies.

Remember, we were once like apes =)

Why does hair only grow in some places?

to protect the delicate areas

Why does hair only grow in some places?

protection of the places.

Why does hair only grow in some places?

to keep the fun areas warm

and some peoples toes

Why does hair only grow in some places?

hair is present all over the body.... its denser at some places such as the head and arm pits..... its main function is to maintain the body temperature and prevent the overheating of the body....

in winter hair plays a vital role in homeastasis. when its cold the hair on the body tends to stick out trapping a layer of air which results in insulation and less heat loss from the body.

Why does hair only grow in some places?

it grows where u have hair folicles...

Why does hair only grow in some places?

I've often pondered that question myself.

If we were hairy like apes, would we need Montague Burton?

What would Kate Moss do for a living?

What hairstyle would David Beckham have?

Would Gillette go out of business?

How long would an appointment with the hairdresser take?
